Tottenham will be delighted with their work in Oslo as they absolutely demolished Inter Milan at the Ullevaal Stadion to lay down a marker ahead of the new Premier League season.

Mauricio Pochettino watched from the dugout as a strong Spurs side hit six past the Italians in Oslo. Harry Kane's form will buoy his manager, as the England striker marked his post-Euro 2016 return with a brace.

When Kane scored from the spot just minutes five in Tottenham always looked likely to run up a score, but Ivan Perisic did equalise 20 minutes later. Erik Lamela put the English side back ahead before half-time with Dele Alli, Kane, Vincent Janssen and Shayon Harrison all scoring in the second half.

Most of Spurs' Euro 2016 stars came back into the team with young defender Cameron Carter-Vickers keeping his spot in central defence, alongside Toby Alderweireld.

Tottenham started the match at Premier League pace and won themselves a penalty after just five minutes. Kyle Walker went down just inside the box after a tangle with Danilo D'Ambrosio, with Svein-Erik Edvartsen's decision very harsh on the Italian.

Kane sent Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic the wrong way from the spot, firing his effort towards the top right corner.
